We currently have a great opportunity for a full-time Coding Auditor at our Graybill Office in Escondido.
The Coding Auditor will audit daily encounter reports utilizing electronic medical records and billing software in EMR and EPM (NextGen). Verifies appropriate use of CPT and ICD-9 codes. Identifies missing or incomplete codes, modifiers, duplicates, bundling, etc. necessary to complete the billing process and preventing denials. Identifies encounters that require Physician follow-up and coordinates accurate encounter completion. Identifies appropriate insurances for billing and inputs all necessary demographic data.
Skills / Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent certification
- CPC certification required through the AAPC
- Minimum 1 year coding/auditing experience
- Prior use of an Electronic Health Records software system preferred. NextGen and Allscripts experience a plus.
- Working knowledge of Excel and Word
